Mission

 

The University focuses on training monastics to specialize in administrative, educational and academic fields. After graduation, students have opportunities to enter graduate school, further their studies abroad on scholarship, or engage in research to become educators and academics. Also, they can choose to serve at DDMs Chan practice, cultural, or educational organizations and thereby devoting themselves to spreading

the Dharma to benefit sentient beings.

Future Prospects

 

After completing the initial stages of Dharma Drum Sangha Universitys development, we hope to popularize the strengths and distinct characteristics of Chinese Buddhism while encompassing all schools and uniting all traditions to become a global center of Buddhist study and practice, recreatingthe glories of Nalanda University from the era of Master Xuanzangs journey to India.
